Free agent Jermaine Dye wanted by 8 teams
ByThe Chicago White Sox didn’t offer Jermaine Dye salary arbitration so it won’t get any compensatory draft picks when the Type A free agent eventually signs somewhere else.
Dye had at least eight teams calling him a month ago to see if he would be interested in playing for them next year, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
Among those on the list are supposedly the Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Cardinals, and San Francisco Giants.
The New York Yankees supposedly asked for Dye’s medical records but the Yanks claim they have no interest in Dye.
The Texas Rangers want him but mostly would like for him to DH, which Dye doesn’t want to do all the time. He likes playing the field.
