Update 12/21 10:55 PST: The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the Oakland Athletics will sign Coco Crisp to a one-year deal for about $4.5 million that includes a team option.

• The deal should be completed on Monday or Tuesday pending a physical.
• Rajai Davis’, the A’s incumbent center fielder might have to shift to a corner-outfield spot.  “That’s OK, as long as I’m out there,” Davis said.
• Ryan Sweeney will retain the other corner outfield spot, but Scott Hairston may be potential trade bait or have to sit the bench as the fourth outfielder or DH.
• A’s GM Billy Bean has tried to pursue Crisp twice before.

12/20 12:51 PST: ESPN.com reports that Coco Crisp is on the verge of signing a contract with the Oakland Athletics.
