The Cardinals are nearing a deal with starting pitcher Brad Penny.  Penny was horrible with the Boston Red Sox at the beginning of the 2009 season.  However, he had a resurgence after he returned to the Naitonal League and signed with the San Francisco Giants in the latter part of the 2009 season.  The Cardinals are hoping to ride that wave with the signing of Penny.
