According ot ESPN.com, Met’s beat-writer Adam Rubin of the New York Daily News, the Mets are actively pursuing catcher Bengie Molina. The Mets may wait it out as other teams that need catchers such as the Astros, Rockies, Dodgers, Royals, Rangers and Giants will have less money to spend as the off season goes on.
Other catchers on the market include Yorvit Torrealba, Miguel Olivo, Jason Kendall, Rod Barajas and Ryan Doumit. Molina hit 20 home runs, drove in 80 RBI’s and hist .265 with the Giants in 2009.
