Freddy Sanchez, 31, inked a 2 year $12 million deal that would pay him $6 million person season in 2010 and 2011.  Sanchez was acquired midseason for a playoff push.  Unfortunately, Sanchez played only in 25 games and not making much of a difference in the stretch run.

Sanchez had knee surgery in September and said the joint “feels great. It feels almost like it never happened.” He also said he just began rehabilitating his sprained shoulder.

Sanchez was acquired on from the Pittsburgh Pirates on July 29, 2009 for prized prospect Tim Alderson.
