2009 World Series ticket prices dropping
ByAccodring to CNNMoney.com, prices for Game 5 World Series tickets have fallen about 39%. The New York Yankees are 1 win away from their first championship since 2000.
CNNMoney.com reports that Yankees fan Nathan Thompson, a physician from Manhattan, said he bought two tickets for Monday’s game at a price of $220 each early Monday. He said asking prices for the same seats in the rooftop bleacher section had been as high as $800 last week and that prices changed throughout Sunday’s game, depending on the score.
I’ve used secondary ticket markets several times including StubHub.com, RazorGator.com, Craigslist.org and scalpers. My suggestion is to either get the tickets when they are originally released by Ticketmaster or Tickets.com or wait. As game time approaches, you can see a decline in pricing unless the event is very hot. Reason for this is that people and scalpers. are desperate to get of rid of their tickets and must compete with others in the same situation. If the Phillies can extend the Series to a Game 7, you can expect the seats to reach their maximum potential. However Chase Utley, Ryan Howard and Cliff Lee need to pull out a Game 5 and Game 6 win.
